CLA offers a wide range of student support services in both academic and personal areas.

These services are available free of charge to all enrolled students and include:

• international students orientation (overseas student health cover, ID cards, cultural adjustment, bank and financial institution services awareness, student visa conditions and requirements, library, how to access student support services);

• assistance with finding accommodation and awareness of accommodation options;

• learning support;

• assistance with budgeting and financial matters;

• academic and personal counselling;

• awareness of medical and health services options;

• information technology services (how to get computer access and set up your account).

Our English language teachers are not only experienced and well qualified, but are very dedicated to providing students with the best educational and Australian cultural experience. They have also learnt a second language and create a multicultural environment in the Academy. Students will find that their teacher quickly becomes their guide and friend.


Ongoing Assessment and Academic Support

Each language program has its own assessment schedule and each student is given many opportunities throughout the courses to improve on their grades. Another important feature of the Academy is that the Director of Studies and teaching staff provide ongoing academic support to students, even after they have commenced further studies with affiliated institutions. Assistance is provided with writing academic essays and developing good study skills.

It provides you with an opportunity to practice your new language as well as a first-hand look at Australian home life. On the day of your arrival one of our staff will meet you at the airport and will take you to your homestay and will give you a brief orientation to your life in Sydney.


Activities

You can enjoy the sights and sounds of Australia as well as make new friends by taking part in the fun of CLA activities. Activities range from playing sports together, going to a movie, visiting museums, art galleries and local festivals, dancing, to visits to nearby cities and the countryside. There is something for everyone in the CLA activities programme.
