All ELICOS teachers have had teaching experience and are qualified to guide their students through a professional and enjoyable language learning experience.

Classes are designed to teach students important language and study skills in a formal but friendly environment.

The teaching staff at CLA is fluent in various Asian and European languages thus making students feel even more at home. They bring a wealth of knowledge to the classroom and have different talents and skills to share with students.

Academic Support

An international student undertaking tertiary studies in Australia is faced with many challenges.

One of these academic challenges is to commence a Diploma or University Degree where instruction is in English.

At Canterbury Language Academy we not only provide English language courses which focus on study skills development, but also assist students on completion of their English program with academic support.

Canterbury Language Academy is very careful in choosing qualtiy teachers and maintaining the quality of English language teachers for its operations.

Some significant quality control methods are:

a) Student surveys: Student surveys give us feedback how students feel about their teachers’ professional skills and personal attitudes in the class.

b) Director of Studies' in-class monitoring: Director of Studies of the college visits classes and observes teachers while teaching and gives them feedback how to improve their teaching skills.

c) In-house professsinol development seminars: Teachers follows the developments in language education and share them with other collegues through in-house seminars.

d) External seminars provided by professionals: Teachers are encouraged and supported attending professional seminars conducted in Sydney.
